Recipes and pantry for iOS

Assistant Chef

Assistant Chef support →

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Assistant Chef is made by fakewaffle, llc, a Utah company (“we”). It helps you keep recipes, pantry items, groceries and related kitchen information. This policy describes how the app handles your data.

Data the app handles

The app stores the recipes, pantry items, grocery lists, images, files, notes and preferences you choose to add. You can also use the camera or your photo library to import recipe or pantry information.

iCloud sync (CloudKit)

If iCloud sync is turned on, this information is stored in your own private iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit so it syncs across your devices. Apple stores and manages that data under its privacy policy.

Processing and service providers

When you use a feature that processes an import, generates suggestions, searches the web or connects a retailer, the content that feature needs is sent to the service that provides it. This can include:

What is sent depends on the feature you choose. Please do not submit information you do not want processed. These providers may keep data under their own policies.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases and subscriptions through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details.

Device authentication and operational records

To protect access to these features, the app registers your device using Apple’s device authentication. That registration expires after 90 days. We also keep limited operational records, such as feature errors, request identifiers and usage measurements, for reliability, security and abuse prevention.

Your choices and deletion

You control the content stored in the app and can delete it in the app. You can turn off camera, photos, notifications and iCloud access in Settings. Deleting the app does not necessarily remove data held in iCloud; manage that through your Apple Account settings.
