v0.13.1

Behind-the-scenes fixes and improvements.

v0.13.0

Improved

  • Many class skills now run much more smoothly, especially with a big horde on screen. Spells like Ward Sigil, Lava Flow, Conflagration, Brimstone, Nightwell, Bear Trap and Snarefield, and the Druid's Web, Storm and Thornlash, cost far less to draw.
  • Lingering status effects on enemies and floating damage numbers are lighter too, so large fights hold up better.

Fixed

  • Whirling Multitude now adds a tornado from its first rank.
  • In the Warlock's Chaos talents, Unbound now sits under Covenant.

v0.12.0

New

  • On Steam for desktop, the game now reports your achievements and stats to Steam, and some achievements show a progress bar toward unlocking.

Fixed

  • On a phone held upright, an opened item in the Lockbox is no longer cut off at the bottom of the list.

v0.11.0

New

  • On iPhone and iPad, Last Ward is now free to play. Explore the Breachwood as the Warden, then unlock the full game with one purchase whenever you're ready. You can restore a purchase from Settings.
  • Game Center achievements on iPhone and iPad. Your progress now reports to Game Center as you play.

Improved

  • iCloud save sync on iPhone and iPad has been rebuilt so your progress stays safe when you play on more than one device.

Fixed

  • On the Depart screen, pressing Enter or A on Sigils now opens Sigils instead of setting off on an expedition.

For iOS testers: the app now has a new App Store identity, so it installs as a new app and saves from the old TestFlight build don't carry over. iOS 17 or later is now required.

v0.10.1

Improved

  • The Character tab's bag is tidier: the sort options sit beside the Bag heading, so you no longer scroll to reach them.
  • Picking an item in your bag shows one description below the bag instead of two, and the comparison there now includes the item's Power. The separate Compare option on this tab is gone, since the comparison is always shown.
  • The Contracts tab in the Refuge now sits just before Records.

Fixed

  • Warlock summons, from Raise Dead and the Revenant, now last their full life instead of being replaced moments after they rise.

v0.10.0

New

  • Every translated language can now be chosen in Settings, and we've improved the translations.
  • Settings has a Release notes section where you can read what changed in each update.

Improved

  • On touch and iPhone, long lists in the Refuge page with a tap or a swipe, and the tabs stay clear of rounded corners and the camera cutout.
  • On the Character screen, at the Wardwork bench, at the Altar and in the Bag during an expedition, an item's actions only appear after you pick it. Contracts keep their details in one fixed place, and Wardwork recipes say whether you Learn or Craft them.
  • The Refuge now asks before spending on a respec or at the Altar.
  • Switching Refuge tabs is quicker, and skill effects no longer hitch the first time they appear in an expedition.

Fixed

  • On touch, the Bag and Pause buttons stay visible during an expedition, talents unlock with a single tap, and the results screen scrolls properly.
  • The level-up draft no longer offers skills from your own class.
  • Choosing Keep when deleting a character now returns you to that character.

v0.9.0

Welcome to Last Ward. You leave the Refuge, humanity's last warded sanctuary, to fight through the horde on expeditions into corrupted wilds, then make it back alive with what you found.

  • Classes, each with its own weapon and skills. Your weapon fights on its own; you aim it, dodge and fire your skills.
  • Expeditions into large generated maps. Cleanse the site at the heart of each map, take on optional side objectives and bosses, then reach the Wardgate before the horde closes in. The Shifting Ward is an endless run of short fragments for when you want to see how deep you can go.
  • The Refuge between runs. Painted, lit rooms where you create characters at the hearth, spend talents, unlock skills, and store, craft and empower your gear.
  • Play your way. Keyboard and mouse, controller with Steam Deck support, and touch controls on iPhone.
  • Translated into a range of languages.
