Effective date: October 12, 2026
BBQ Buddy is made by fakewaffle, llc, a Utah company (“we”). It is designed to keep your cook history private. This policy describes how the app handles your data.
No account required
BBQ Buddy does not ask you to sign up or log in. There are no user accounts.
Data the app handles
BBQ Buddy stores your cook plans and logs, such as cooker, fuel, protein, cut, temperatures, milestones, notes, outcomes, equipment, photos, preferences and notification settings. This information is stored on your device.
iCloud sync (CloudKit)
If you turn on iCloud sync, your cooks are stored in your own private iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit so they sync across your devices. Apple stores and manages that data under its privacy policy. Your cooks are never sent to our servers.
Photos and notifications
You can choose to add photos from the camera or your photo library. Notifications are used only for the cook reminders you set, and they stay on your device.
On-device suggestions
Cook suggestions are generated on your device with Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. BBQ Buddy does not send your cooks to a cloud AI provider.
No advertising, analytics or subscriptions
The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no subscription system.
Data we do not collect
- No location data
- No personal data sold to anyone
- No data shared with third parties for tracking or advertising
Your choices and deletion
Your cook data stays on your device and, if turned on, in your private iCloud account until you delete it. You can remove individual cooks in the app, turn off permissions in Settings, and manage iCloud data through your Apple Account settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date above.
