Keystar is a touch typing game from fakewaffle. Every message comes to the same inbox, and we read them all.

hello@fakewaffle.comWhat changed in each update is on the release notes page. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.
Which keyboard layouts does Keystar support?
QWERTY, Dvorak and Colemak. Pick one in Settings, on the Keyboard tab. Lessons, the finger guide and your stats follow that layout.
What does the virtual layout setting do?
It lets you practice a layout without changing your computer’s layout. With it on, Keystar reads the physical keys you press as if they were on the layout you picked, so you can learn Dvorak or Colemak on a QWERTY keyboard. Turn it off if your computer is already set to that layout, or the letters will come out wrong.
Can I play on an iPad?
Keystar needs a hardware keyboard. It has no on-screen keyboard, so an iPad without a keyboard attached cannot type the words.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device only. In the downloads for macOS and Windows it is saved in the game’s data folder. In the browser it is saved in your browser’s site storage for play.fakewaffle.com. Clearing site data or cookies for that site, or using a private window, erases your web progress. Nothing is saved to an account, so progress does not move between devices or browsers.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”
The Windows build is not signed yet, so SmartScreen warns about it. Choose More info, then Run anyway. The download comes from fakewaffle.com.
Which version of macOS do I need?
macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later on a Mac with Apple silicon, and macOS 10.13 or later on an Intel Mac.
